Summer Equestrian Tips

Summer Equestrian Tips

The weather is finally starting to improve (we’re all exhausted from the most awful winter!), which means it’s time to start thinking about those summer outfits and how to stay cool. Here are some tips:

Stay Hydrated

This sounds obvious, but it’s often easy to forget to keep ourselves hydrated as we rush around after our horses or go about our busy daily routines. It’s a good idea to carry around a large water bottle that you can keep topped up throughout the day.

Wear SPF

It’s also extremely important to protect yourself from the sun by applying sunscreen regularly and reapplying it between rides.

Choose the Right Time to Ride

As the days get warmer, it’s important to be selective about when you ride. Early mornings and late evenings tend to be cooler, benefiting both you and your horse.

Choose Cool Clothing

Many equestrians struggle with what to wear in the summer while working with horses. On hot days, some opt for denim shorts, only to find themselves hot and uncomfortable after an hour on the yard.

It’s also challenging to find shorts that offer enough coverage without causing tan lines or discomfort. That’s where our newly dropped Flex Shorts come in: multipurpose shorts designed for summer yard duties or a 10 am gym class. These shorts feature two phone pockets (no more losing your phone at the yard) and just the right amount of leg length.

In addition to being practical, these shorts are flattering, made with buttery-soft materials, and feature no front seam.

I hope you find these tips helpful, and be sure to check out our new Flex Shorts!
